Subject: [VOIPSEC] Cicso 7920 Phones Power Issue..
We have recently deployed about 50 7920 wireless phones in our new hospital.
While for the most part these phones are working great we are having an
issue that Cisco has not heard of and so far no one has been able to
resolve.................
The issue is that the phones sometimes turn themselves off. This occurs
regardless of the key lock being "on" or "off", and it is not related to a
low battery issue. The phones are using the Cisco Extended Life Batteries.
When were did a "trial" with loaner 7920 phones this did not occur, and the
Extended life batteries showed a part number of 74-2901-01 3.7V 1960mAh.
However the Extend Life Batteries that we received with our order has a
different part number (74-4481-01) and is rated at 3.7V 2400mAh.
I have a case open with Cisco TAC but they do not find this part number or
any 2400mAh batteries listed for these phones..............
If anyone has had this or a similar experience I would like to hear from
you........
Thanks..............
