VOIPSEC readers,

I uploaded today the latest podcast (Blue Box #58) from Jonathan and I
where we primarily talked about the issues around SIP/VoIP botnets:

  http://www.blueboxpodcast.com/2007/05/blue_box_58_the.html

We also continued our ongoing "mini-tutorial" series with a discussion of
phone software/firmware and the issue of rogue firmware loads.

I realized that I never posted it to this list, but last week, Blue Box
#57 also went up:

where we had a mini-tutorial on call signalling encryption, talked about
VoIP eavesdropping and covered some other VoIP security news.

Finally, if any of you are users of the Facebook social networking site, I
recently created a "group" there for fans of Blue Box:

Not really sure what, if anything, we're going to do with that group...
it's all just part of the ongoing experimentation about: a) how sites like
these can be used to encourage discussion of VoIP security; b) how they
can be used to foster a greater sense of community among podcast
listeners; and c) how sites like these are changing how we communicate. If
you happen to be a Facebook user and want to join the group, please feel
free to do so.

Enjoy,
Dan
