By the way, Dean Elwood over at VoIPUser.org took up this matter on his 
forums at:

He doesn't see the need for OpenID but rather suggests that what is needed 
is:

> environment. That's the SIP environment of the future - authentication 
will need 
> to be achieved inter-domain. 

He goes on to suggest that OSP (Open Settlement Protocol) might be the way 
to do exactly that.
