Hello,
I am looking for some more information on MIDCOM (Middlebox Communication) and I am aware of that many RFCs (RFC 3234, RFC 3303, RFC 3304, RFC 3989, RFC 4097 and RFC 4540, the last one about the SIMCO protocol version 3). But is there a practical use for it?
Well, there are some companies like Ranch Networks (in conjunction with asterisk pbx), Veraz Networks and maybe Newport Networks (not quite sure) that use this protocol and the architecture/framework in their products for interoperability. This doesn't seem to be important, does it? But why isn't it widely used then if there are so many RFCs?
Thanks,
Michael
