Boeing has developed a similar technology to secure communications on
the factory floor. It is called the Secure Mobile Architecture (SMA)
and is an open architecture from The Open Group. It has been mentioned
several times on this mailing list. The components of the SMA are a
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), the Host Identity Protocol (HIP) from
the IETF, a virtual directory to support a policy schema, and a Network
Location Service (NLS). Attached is one of the email messages that has
been distributed before.

Subject: [VOIPSEC] Voice recognition and security

Just saw an interesting press release from RSA Security who have
launched a voice recognition product to be used for banking security - I
was wondering if this can be developed further where, voice recognition
provides secure and authenticated digital certificates (and therefore
security keys) on a subscriber basis. This would allow the formation of
a "network of trust" that is not solely based on IP/MAC/CLI. Is anyone
doing this or something similar now?
