If you by "Intelligent Defence" mean Neural Networks, then you will find 
lots of hits if you just Google it´- Some very interesting resurge has been 
done on that technology here in Denmark, I have some interesting material on 
it - unfortunately fore you its in Danish. In any case you shouldn't hope 
fore an "in depth" explanation here (it would be a long mail). You my want

the way - "Neural Networks" is best used in closed network environments and 
would in any large scale ISP scenario - be very holistic...
