VOIPSEC folks,
While out at O'Reilly's Emerging Telephony conference last week in San
Francisco, I received
permission from O'Reilly and the speakers to record a couple of sessions
and make them available
as audio downloads as part of Jonathan Zar and my project - Blue Box: The
VoIP Security Podcast.
I'm delighted to say that two of those sessions are up. The first is from
Phil Zimmermann, the creator
of PGP, who now aims to make a secure phone technology that does for voice
what PGP did for e-mail:

It was quite interesting and he was around for some subsequent informal
conversations that were
quite enjoyable. It will be interesting to see where his 'zFone' goes.
The second ETel session is from Brad Templeton, Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Electronic
Frontier Foundation (EFF):

He gave a very entertaining presentation railing against the FCC's recent
decision to apply CALEA
to VoIP service providers, announced a lawsuit, talked about wiretapping
and talked about other
things such as the Universal Service Fee. Regardless of where you stand
on these issues, I think
you will find this presentation enjoyable.
If you already subscribe to the RSS feed for Blue Box: The VoIP Security
Podcast,
you probably already have these shows downloaded for you to hear. If you
don't subscribe, you
can just download the MP3 files from the websites above. (And no, you
don't need an iPod to
listen to these... you can just play the audio on your regular desktop
PC.)
Jonathan and I thank both O'Reilly and the two presenters for giving us
permission to record
these sessions and make them available to listeners.
Enjoy,
Dan
P.S. I recorded other sessions and interviews out at ETel 2006, along with
another weekly podcast,
and those will be appearing online over the next week or so as I get the
time to clean-up and
post the shows in my off-hours.
