Dear VoIP members,
IMS is considered as an enabler for creating value through true convergence
. That is, creating networks that deliver end-user communications services
that are simple, secure and seamless for people at work, home or anywhere in
between. Further IMS at the heart of open-standards architecture will allow
for conveying Data, Voice, Video or short IMS will carry Multi Media
Sessions
I am checking the mailing daily for example on how a SIP network treat Data.
Unfortunately, most of the example I run into describe how SIP treat voice
packet only (VoIP) but Data.
My query is about a SIP UA that have successfully registered in an IMS
environment. I would like to know if it is correct to state that like with
voice call (SIP VoIP) , the SDP negotiation will allow to detect raw data
only and trigger out the RTP/RTCP and finally fall back into classic TCP/IP
data handling .
Am I wrong in expecting the SDP to be something similar to the following?
v=0
o=jpmara xxxxxxxx yyyyyyy IN IP4 one.sip.com
t=a b
c=IN IP4 192.x.x.x/y
a=abc:zxyz
m=data 10/100/10000 Mbps
..
..
I am struggling with the question to understand what happen with data sent
by a UA in a IMS environnment. There should be a description or Call flow
but I do not seem to find such a description.
thank for your comment
