The most obvious case is that you want to associate a public URI with
more than one device, so that you can get call forking, e.g. a follow-me
service that calls your fixed phone then your cellphone, or rings both
in parallel. I guess in some networks it will also be possible to have
different public URIs associated with the same device, like today having
two telephone numbers on your cellphone or home phone, one number with a
"distinctive ring".
